“I will say that Conor is here to meet with the president. He will meet with him this afternoon. We could not think of a better guest to have with us on San Patricio Day,” he said, noting that the meeting will be discussed more thoroughly in the informative session of the press of Monday afternoon.

McGregor raised several problems with the current state of politics in his native Ireland during his brief appearance, criticizing the government for what he called “zero responsibility.”

“I am here to raise the problems that the people of Ireland face. You know, it will be music for the people of the ears of Ireland. Because, never on the main stage, there has been talk of the problems facing the people of Ireland,” he said in part.

UFC star McGregor ‘very optimistic’ before Trump’s presidency

“Our government has long abandoned the voices of the people of Ireland, and it is time for the United States to take into account what is happening in Ireland. What is happening in Ireland is a parody. Our government is a zero -acting government and zero responsibility.”

McGregor has previously criticized the Irish government. In September, he made fun of a possible presidential career in Ireland, calling himself the “only logical choice.”

“As president I have the power to convene the Dáil and dissolve it,” he wrote in an X publication, in reference to a branch of the Irish legislature. “Then, as I said before, I would have all the answers that the people of Ireland seek these thieves of the working man, these switches of the family unit, these destroyers of small businesses, and so on!”

“The people of Ireland deserve the answers that seek. Blank. This would be my power as president. I know very well. Ireland needs an active president used completely by the people of Ireland. It is me. I am the only logical option. 2025 is close …”

McGregor’s visit comes a week after Ireland Prime Minister Micheál Martin, met with Trump at the Oval office.
