The Ukrainian unmanned aircraft attacks during the night in several of Russia’s energy and energy facilities forced the reduction of capacity at the Kursk nuclear energy plant and established an OST-Luga export terminal in Flames, Russian officials said on Sunday.
A drone attack against the Kursk nuclear plant, not far from the border with Ukraine, damaged an auxiliary transformer and led to a 50% reduction in the operating capacity in unit three of the plant, said the plant’s press service.
There were no injuries, and a fire caused by the attack quickly extinguished, said the plant’s press service. Radiation levels on the site and in the surrounding area have not exceeded normal limits, he added.
Around 10 Ukrainian drones were shot down on the port of UST-Luga in the northern region of Leningrad de Russia, with debris that caused fire in the Terminal operated by Novatek, a huge terminal and complex for export processing of Baltic maritime fuel, said the regional governor.
“Firefighters and emergency services are currently working to extinguish the fire,” said Telegram messaging application, Alexander Drozdenko, where the UST-Luga port is located, in the Telegram messaging application. There were no injuries, he added.
According to Novatek, the UST-Luga complex, which was inaugurated in 2013, processes the gas condensate in light and heavy naphtha, fuel for airplanes, fuel and diesel, and allows the company to send oil products and gas condensate to international markets.
Russian units destroyed a total of 95 Ukrainian drones during the night in 13 regions, including Leningrad and Samara, as well as the Crimean Peninsula, the Ministry of Defense said.
Rosaviatsia, the Civil Aviation Authority of Russia, said the flights stopped for hours at several Russian airports during the night, even at the Pulkovo airport in the Leningrad region.
The Ukrainian drones also attacked an industrial company in the city of southern Russia in Syzran, Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, governor of the Samara region where Syzran is located, published in Telegram, and added that there were no victims.
He did not say what the objectives were or if there was any damage.
Earlier this month, the Ukrainian army said he had hit Syzran’s oil refinery. The Refinery owned by Rosneft was forced to suspend the production and intake of crude after the attack, sources told Reuters.
There were no immediate comments from Ukraine. kyiv has said that his attacks within Russia are in response to the continuous attacks of Russia against Ukraine and aim to destroy the infrastructure considered crucial for the general military efforts of Moscow.
