The General Football Manager of the University of North Carolina, Michael Lombardi, is inflexible about ensuring that the reports on Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson do not become a distraction.

Hudson closed a question about how the couple met Tony Dokoupil during Belichick’s interview with “CBS News Sunday Morning” in April, and the interview generated generalized criticism.

“I mean, much of that is just noise,” Lombardi said during an appearance in “Marty & McGee” by ESPN Radio.

“And for us distracted by something that has no doubts, that has no relevance, that is a complete falsehood, in terms of what people say or what they are writing. It is comic. And, for me, even attacking anyone who is saying it, gives them credibility.

Lombardi pointed out the success that the program has had this low season avoiding the “noise.”

“And the noise comes from a direction of people who try to be disruptive within our program. We are not going to allow it. We will not recognize it. We will move on,” Lombardi said.

“And, look, let’s be honest, the tests are in the Buddine. We are having a tremendous recruitment class. We had a tremendous portal and we will continue to improve every day.”

Lombardi said that when the interview was issued for the first time, there was no reason to worry. He said that his concern comes from North Carolina football schedule, not from Belichick-Hudson’s drama.

“Everyone looked at each other and they were like a complete astonishment. I mean, so we had no reason to surround the cars. The reason we had was to focus on what we are going to do, as Bill said in many of the interviews, and I don’t want Compound, “Lombardi said.

“I mean, it’s tremendous, you know, you could be a great novelist, some of the people who report these things. So, we didn’t have, there is no reason to surround any car. Look, when we play Clemson, we will have to surround the wagons. But we play TCU in the opening game, we will have to surround the hairs. That is competition.

The debut as Belichick coach with North Carolina will come against the TCU on September 1 at 8 pm et.
