United Kingdom, Singapore extends help for flood victims

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, met Friday with the British high commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott, who transmitted the solidarity of the United Kingdom with Pakistan about the devastation caused by floods and the monsoon in progress.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the High Commissioner said that Great Britain was extending £ 3 million in relief and emergency response in coordination with the Pakistan government and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA)

She said she would also follow more humanitarian assistance. Give appreciated the timely commitment, expressing gratitude for the understanding of the United Kingdom of the destruction scale, the urgency of needs and their solidarity in supporting the relief and rehabilitation efforts.

Meanwhile, Singapore announced humanitarian assistance worth $ 50,000 for the victims of flooding in Pakistan. According to its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the amount will be provided as a seed money for the Funds for the Red Cross of the Singapore Red Cross (SRC) launched last week for the relief of floods.
