University football news: Florida State honor Ethan Pritchard during the game

The state of Florida honored the first year supporter Ethan Pritchard, who suffered a gunshot wound last weekend, during his game against East Texas A&M on Saturday.

Pritchard was shot in the back of the head while driving, said his father, Earl, WFTV on Wednesday. It remains hospitalized in Tallahassee, Florida.

Pritchard’s father was on the sidelines for his confrontation against East Texas A&M. The state security of Florida Earl Little Jr. wore Pritchard’s number 35 to the center of the field for the launch of the currency.

The players had No. 35 bracelets to honor their teammate. The defensive Tackle Darrell Jackson Jr. warmed while he was on a shirt with Pritchard’s face.

The FSU chief coach Mike Norvell said he visited Pritchard earlier for the week and had been giving updates to his team about Pritchard’s condition.

Florida State bothered Alabama last week and dominated in her second game of the season, beating East of Texas A&M 77-3 on Saturday at home, with Pritchard’s father.

Pritchard played football at high school in Seminole High School in Sanford, Florida, and was a four -star recruit. It was classified No. 437 in 247Sports Composite and the number 507 nationwide in the Ranking of the ON3 industry.

ESPN classified Pritchard as the number 39 at the national level and player No. 64 in Florida.

As a last year student, he helped to take Seminole High School to a 10-2 record and his second consecutive regional final in 2024, registering 39 tacle and seven cups for loss in nine games.

As Junior, Pritchard had 75 cups, 11 tacle for loss and a loose ball recovery when Seminole High School had 10-3. He began his career in high school as security before the transition to the supporter as a second year student.

Pritchard promised with the state of Florida in October 2023, choosing the seminols on Miami, Florida and UCF, among others.

Florida State does not have a game next week. His next game will be against Kent State on September 20.
