LODHRAN: A young man falsely reported his cousin’s forced marriage after learning that she was getting married elsewhere, a police spokesperson said on Wednesday.
A police spokesman said: “The young man reported that the girl was being forcibly married.”
“The man, a native of Kahror Pakka, wanted to marry his cousin,” the police spokesman added.
When police arrived at the scene, they found that the marriage had taken place with the girl’s consent, the spokesperson said.
Furthermore, the police spokesperson also said that the youth called police helpline 15 and then gave a false report about the girl’s marriage.
Notably, the suspect has been arrested and a case has been registered against him under the Telegraph Act, according to the police.
