Urdu translation of revealed Russian stories


Islamabad:

The Academy of Letters of Pakistan (PAL) organized a prestigious ceremony to release books of the Urdu translation of Russian stories entitled ‘Roos Ki Muntakhib Kahanian’ on Tuesday.

The book has been published recently by Pakistan Academy of Letters. The launch of the book was a significant milestone to promote literary exchange and cultural ties between Pakistan and Russia.

The ceremony was chaired by the eminent poet and scholar Iftikhar Arif. While the ambassador of the Russian Federation to Pakistan, Albert Khorev, was the main guest.

The president of Pal, Dr. Najeba Arif, pronounced the welcome speech, highlighting the importance of literary diplomacy and cultural dialogue. He expressed Pal’s commitment to promote global literature in Pakistani languages, stating that translations serve as bridges that connect readers through borders.

He also proposed that an anthology of short stories Pakistani translate into the Russian language and be published by the counterpart of the Academy in Russia.

In his comments, ambassador Albert Khorev praised the initiative and emphasized the role of literature in the construction of mutual understanding among nations.
