Can I say that I am writing this column in a country that has been transformed, that it is not the same Pakistan as ten days ago? Well, a lot has changed, and the extent to which Pakistan can be significantly transformed is something that we must examine carefully.
But, for now, we can put aside all contemplations and simply celebrate this moment, which is a kind of divine gift for a people caught forever in a state of political discontent and social disturbances. The way in which our armed forces have triumphed over a much larger adversary in a four -day meeting have raised the mood of the nation and has joined it.
A miracle that has been, almost. After Pakistan and India agreed to high the immediate fire on Saturday, May 10, after a brief period of mortal combat attacks, missiles, drones and artillery, some realities have begun to emerge.
Initially, both parties claimed the victory, according to the practice in previous conflicts between the two nuclear countries. However, the world has recognized the amazing profits that the Pakistani army has achieved.
Therefore, there is a broad justification for a collective expression of joy and pride. A war against a traditional rival generally unites the nation and generates strong patriotic feelings. We have had our armed confrontations with India, mainly with uncertain results. This time, Pakistan gave India a devastating blow, mainly in a rapid and dramatic fight in the air.
Then, just when the high fire was announced, surprisingly by President Donald Trump of the United States, we were ready to raise our victory flag.
It is interesting how Trump would like to take the credit to stop a possible “nuclear war” and how he proposed to solve the problem of Kashmir. But it is difficult to see this intervention as the way to follow for the resolution of a conflict that has become an enigma in modern history.
Anyway, the point I am doing is that Pakistan has earned the opportunity to really be proud of the abilities and performance of their armed forces. What I find exciting is the passion and enthusiasm with which the people of Pakistan celebrate this occasion. There is also the feeling of relief that a great disaster has been avoided with the claim of our position and our strategy.
I must also admit that this has been a week of fun in cheerful meetings of friends and family where we tell the stories and memes that have circulated on social networks. You could say that we have also obtained a great victory on this front.
I would not like to concentrate much on how the government is officially celebrating the supremacy of our Armed Forces, as demonstrated in the attacks of the early morning of military facilities in India and the Kashmir controlled by India.
The observance throughout the country of Yom-E-Tashakkur on Friday was destined to affirm that “the world is stunned by our military power” and affirm that we are “a nation united in the heart and soul.”
Pakistan is surely justified by highlighting this victory, which will help establish a new balance in southern Asia, raising people’s morals and improving their trust and confidence in the competence of the Armed Forces. A tempo is being created that can positively contribute to other national activities.
Meanwhile, it is obvious that the story that began with the aggression of India is not over yet. The high fire, fortunately, remains and, through military contacts between the two countries, has spread to May 18. Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar informed the Senate on Thursday that Pakistan has sought a “integral dialogue” with India.
Even so, things are still uncertain. India has been injured and would like to save his face through any means. In his first speech before the nation after the stop the fire, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India “only stopped” his military action against Pakistan. “If another terrorist attack against India is carried out, a strong response will be given,” he said.
The world observed conflagration in southern Asia with interest. One reason was that both are nuclear countries, and there are always possibilities of a misfortune on each side. A holder in The New York Times It was: “The nuclear war avoided, again. But next time?”
Another curiosity for the world was that this was the first time that the Chinese planes and the missiles they were used in combat anywhere in the world. As The guardian He pointed out, “the use of J-10C Jets Pakistan and missiles exposed the power of the Chinese weapons.”
Returning to the great fervor with which we have observed our Yoerm-E-Tashakkur, it is surely a great tribute to our armed forces that could dominate their Indian adversaries. But when you have such established rivals, it is important to match its strength not only in the military space. After all, military confrontation can only be a rare and unpleasant possibility.
In fact, the real power of a country and a society lies in its human capital and its economic and social advance. The task of building Pakistan as a strong nation in other spheres is also before us. Let our current celebrations also underline this urgency.
What our military supremacy has certified is that we have the potential to achieve our objectives, if only the commitment and resources required are dedicated to a project. An additional ingredient we need is an unequivocal love for our country, without accessing any dogmatic or xenophobic state.
While it is necessary to be a strong military and capable of defeating any aggression of any adversary, the final desire of any people would be anywhere to live a peaceful and happy life in which the highest values of a civilized existence can flourish.
Unfortunately, this is not the dream that we will dare to dream for the future of southern Asia at this time. We can be lucky when times have changed.
