- Windows 11 has an optional update
- Fix a lot of mistakes that have been annoying players
- One of the most annoying technical problems makes the monitor screen look black for a few seconds when it plays, and now it is resolved
The last Windows 11 patch makes some important improvements for PC players, including the resolution of a seriously frustrating black screen failure, and some useful changes are also provided in other places.
This is the optional update for June (known as KB5060829) and, as the latest Windows reports, introduce the aforementioned corrections for players, as well as to accelerate the performance of a common task in Windows 11, namely the unbuttoning files.
However, let’s see first those solutions related to the game, and the highlight here is that Microsoft has healed a problem in which “unnecessary visualization reset” occurred to some people.
This error manifests as the screen goes black until a few seconds when games, and also in daily use. As a Redditor says: “So this could solve that problem where my screen only flashes in black by a second fraction while sailing through certain websites and plays?”
That is hope, and many other Windows 11 players intervene to say they are suffering at the hands of this error. There are a couple of reports of users who claim that the solution has worked, so it is a hopeful early sign. (Also remember that these corrections are gradually implemented, so not everyone will get the cure immediately).
Microsoft also allows us to know that there is an additional solution for an problem through which when the graphics configuration is changed in a game (or some applications), any unpleasant screen flash that occurs must be reduced.
Another resolution applied in the category of ‘graphics’ for this optional update is the solution for some screens that are “unexpectedly green”, which I suppose is a reference to green screen blocks, instead of visual corruption, although it could be the last one, and Microsoft does not clarify this. Either way, that would be an annoying problem to face, and now it should be defeated.
As already mentioned, it is also worth mentioning here is a better performance when compressed files are unbuttoned in 7Z (7-zip) or rar formats that are natively admitted in the file explorer with Windows 11. The speed increase is more noticeable in cases where large file numbers are compressed, and must be extracted faster: the latest Windows observations that happen up to 15% of faster.
Other ingenious movements with this pre -view update include the taskbar that automatically changes the icons so that they fit more applications when filled, and curiously, we are also achieving the new PC migration experience to PC. The latter is provided in the Windows backup application, and has previously been in tests, offering an easy way to change to a new PC.
This is only the initial deployment, the mind and migration function of PC to PC will not be completely enabled. To begin with, we are only obtaining the destination page as a “first look at what is coming”, and Microsoft points out that: “The support for this function during the PC configuration will arrive in a future update.”
However, in the short term, this will be more a key feature for PCs with Windows 10, and Microsoft will want to push it for those devices with the deadline of support of the large operating system. (Microsoft is very interested in these people updating to a new PC with Windows 11, which has caused a lot of controversy in recent times).
Finally, another useful touch for players with this patch is a solution for some applications that freeze when alternating the game that runs on full screen. A precautionary note here: Windows Latter explains that a couple of people trying this patch have experienced other oddities when the alternative of the games, such as the cursor of the mouse delaying, but at this time, these are only scattered reports. I still wouldn’t read much in them.
Analysis: Take advantage or wait?
Of course, this is an update of previous view and, as such, you can expect errors, such as possible new problems with the ALT table, you can expect. Microsoft is still testing this patch before its launch next month, and that is why it is optional.
Because of this, I generally advise Windows 11 users to ignore these patches, especially because there is not much to wait before implementing the complete update, and any last minute error (hopefully) will iron. In fact, this time, the wait is particularly short, and the complete update of Windows 11 in July arrives in just over a week.
Even so, if any given problem is really promoting bananas, you may want to risk the optional update at this time (and I hope you have luck in terms of the deployment period). And judging by comments on Reddit, many people are really suffering at the hands of the error that makes the screen look black for a second or three. If this happens at a crucial situation of a game, it can be very frustrating, of course.
In fact, many Redditors say that this error has been making them ask what the hell is wrong with their PC, and suspect a failure with the GPU controller (which, given the current problems of NVIDIA, is an obvious conclusion to achieve). At least now we know that the problem is with Windows 11, and the fingers crossed that this patch (and by extension the launch of July) completely resolves these temporary black screen dropouts.
