NEWNow you can listen to Pak Gazette articles!
I’m sitting at the Blue Square Anti-Hate Alliance Conference this week, listening to Van Jones, and I’m disappointed in myself because I’m not hating all is saying.
Start with this:
“I work for CNN,” Jones says, “but I’m not CNN. I don’t agree with everything CNN says or does.”

Van Jones, an ally of the Jews
I must not be okay because Jones was once named “czar” in the Obama administration, and the US Congressional Record clearly describes him as an avowed communist.
And I’m an adult born into communism who experienced it firsthand. So, I know people in America who praise communism despite never having lived through that disastrous totalitarian experience are idiots. In reality, they are useful idiots, as Lenin said.
Despite this, Jones is saying some things that aren’t entirely wrong.
He shares with the audience at the Blue Square Alliance Against Hate conference that he visited Gaza in 2002 and 2004 before Hamas took power. Then he understood the deep meaning of Hamas’s attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.
“If you tell me Hamas, you’re saying the Ku Klux Klan, the Nazis, I knew exactly what that group was about,” Jones says. “But then I realized that almost no one in my world would know Hamas from hummus. They wouldn’t have a clue.
“Suddenly, I decided I had to step up and be an ally [to Israel]”.

The United States would not allow Mexican rockets
Jones has done the math on Jews, and since he is at a symposium on anti-Semitism, he shares that there are only approximately 15.7 million Jews on Earth, of which about half are in Israel.
“There are 15 million Jews in the world, half of them are in Israel, surrounded and getting rocketed every day,” Jones says. “No one in America would hear people in Mexico say, ‘Look, Texas used to be Mexico. California used to be Mexico. That’s stolen land, we want it back. So now we’re going to shoot rockets at your babies every day. And your kids have to wake up every morning and look at your phone to see if it’s safe to go out, and you have to have a place to hide in your house.
“That would happen once here. If Mexico fired rockets here one time, talking about giving us Texas back, Mexico would be a parking lot.”
Yes, mostly correct.
Except, of course, there have definitely been Mexicans protesting ICE’s actions, waving Mexican flags and saying that California and Texas were stolen from them. No one is firing rockets, but Univision anchor María Elena Salinas said that “the entire Southwest is Mexico.”
And he said it without opposition on the same CNN that Jones works for, but on Thursday he disavowed it.
We digress.

Jones: Protecting Jews is the most important thing
“So,” Jones says, “the idea that Jews have to live under this constant state of terror. The only place they’ve been able to be safe is in the bombings, and if they do anything to try to protect themselves, they’re wrong. That, I don’t think, was explained to me in all my years as a progressive.
“We left the impression that if you were white, male, and had money, there was no way you could be oppressed. When, in reality, it’s not that all Jews have money, but the reality is that, for 3,000 years, white people who were men and women, had money and had no money, were being brutally oppressed. Brutally oppressed. Driven out of every country. How we left that out is a mystery that needs to be solved and solved.”
Jones said protecting Jews from anti-Semitism has to be at the top of the list of marginalized people who need protection.
“In my opinion, this is part of a much larger plot,” Jones says. “No one is that angry at 15 million people. There are eight billion people in the world and they are angry at 15 million? No. When they persecute the Jews, it’s not about the Jews.

“It’s only 15 million people. It’s something else. And I think they are deliberately persecuting the Jews as a way to bring down the entire Western world.
“I think if they can separate the blacks from the Jews, if they can get people to turn against each other and promote this poison, I don’t think it’s about the Jews. I think it’s a much bigger plot and I think we’re being fooled.”
Jones has been a radical for much of his life. Now, either he’s softening (not likely), he has a controlled opposition, or he just sometimes gets to some truth.
Thursday was an example of one of them.
