The Minnesota Vikings celebrated a mandatory mini -family this week, and Brian Flores stopped near the vikings defensive players participated in the exercises.
Earlier this year, it was not clear that Flores would wear a vikings cap when the team’s low season program began. The former chief coach of the Miami Dolphins attracted the interest of multiple NFL teams that had chief training openings during the last hiring cycle.
The Chicago Bears and the New York Jets were among the teams that confirmed that they met with flowers for an interview in January.
Flores did not achieve another chief training opportunity and returned for his third season as a defensive coordinator of the Vikings.

Flores succeeded in his first two seasons with the Vikings, and his innovative schemes were widely accredited by the franchise’s defensive change. Although the regular season is still months away, the creativity of flowers and the aggressive style of game flames were already on display in Minicamp.
During the complete exercises of the team on Thursday, an unexpected alignment prior to the SNAP for the defense led the new Ryan Kelly Center to ask the Vikings chief coach, Kevin O’Connell, about the call he should make to block that play.
“Your assumption is as good as mine,” O’Connell told Kelly, then told reporters. “I have no idea what they are doing there.”
Vikings have history at their time of 2025
“It must have been quite close to the end of the low season program because today he directed some things that he did not even know they were there,” added O’Connell. “That is Flo. I challenge you all the time to do those things.”

Although he will not enter the 2025 NFL season as chief coach, Flores expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to go through the interview process. He added that he was “happy” to return to Minnesota.
“Being able to sit in that interview environment and have a conversation for that role is obviously an honor, and those works were for guys that were certainly deserved,” Flores said. “It was a great experience and I enjoyed it. I am also very happy to be right where I am.”
The Dolphins separated with flowers after the 2021 season. He filed a demand for racial discrimination against the league shortly after losing his chief coach’s job. The demand is still pending.
The Vikings occupied the fifth place in the league in scoring defense last season after finishing 14th the previous year. There were 28 in 2022 before Flores arrived.

Free agency spending helped improve the depth table, but Flores has also helped convert unnoticated players such as security Josh Metellus and Ivan Pace supporter to key taxpayers.
Last season, the Vikings tied in the advantage of the League with 33 conclusions, which led to a constant flow of celebrations in the field.
“My joy comes from seeing them to have emotion,” Flores said.
