- Vivo says that his next folding will offer Apple Watch support
- Synchronization seems to work through an ICloud connection
- It is not clear if Apple will finally allow this to work
We did not have Apple Watch support for Android phones on our Bingo Tech card for 2025, or for any year, for the case, but alive has announced that the next living X Fold 5 will be the first Android phone to work with the Apple laptop.
According to an official publication about Weibo (through 9to5google), you can answer calls and read text messages on your Apple Watch when you are connected to your X FOLD 5, as well as synchronize health data between the two devices.
Based on subsequent vivo publications, it seems that this will work through some type of ICloud connection through the web. I trust Google Translate, but there are also mentions of synchronizing data to and from an iPhone.
It will be interesting to see how this works, when it arrives, because presumably it could also be configured in other Android phones. As they will know, Apple executives considered adding Android support to Apple Watch, but abandoned the effort due to “technical limitations.”
I hope this happens, but I am not convinced
The obstacle to trying to add Apple Watch support to an Android phone is similar to the problem of trying to build a third -party application to access its Imessages: Apple will not allow you to do so, which is a quite large block of stumbling block.
At least for now, Apple wants your smart watches to be accessories for your iPhones, so you do not want a device such as Apple Watch 10 to reduce an Android phone, even if you could sell more wearable as a result.
Whatever the trick that I live in mind, so it is more or less a fact that Apple will block it with a software update. If the Apple Watch once obtains the official Android support, it is because Apple allows it, perhaps as a result of the continuous antitrust pressure that is low.
While I am a dedicated Android user when it comes to my choice main phone, I would like to use a Apple Watch on my wrist; It certainly compares well with the best Garmins and the best Android watches.
However, that is not an election that Apple wants to give me right now, and I am not sure that I can do a lot about it.
