Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery It doesn’t have a release date yet. However, as the previous X/Twitter post confirms, it will debut on Netflix sometime in 2025.
It is also on track to land next year. In June 2024, Johnson confirmed that principal photography had begun. Two months later, Johnson announced (via Instagram) that filming had wrapped.
With its post-production phase in full swing, we hope it won’t be long before Knives out 3 arrives. That said, its predecessors arrived in November 2019 and December 2022 respectively, so it’s likely that Johnson and company will look to release it. Wake up dead man at the end of 2025. Our guess? Given its spooky title, an October 2025 release would be most appropriate.

Obviously, Craig is back as the louche Blanc. After his exploits as the infamous British spy James Bond, it appears to be a recurring role that he is only too happy to continue playing. In fact, Benoit appears to have had a bit of a makeover for this new outing, with everyone’s favorite bumbling detective sporting longer hair and a bit of a beard, albeit in a typically dandy suit and hat.
Like the previous two. Knives out films, Blanc will be joined by an eclectic group of characters played by some very talented actors. The first announcement came in late May, when it was confirmed that Cailee Spaeny and Josh O’Connor had signed on for undisclosed roles. One day later, Knives out 3 It was confirmed to be a mini Bond reunion of sorts after Andrew Scott was revealed as part of the cast. Four more big names added Wake up dead manMay 30, and one of those hires, Mila Kunis, ended up irritating Netflix users. The final three additions, also known as Josh Brolin, Daryl McCormack and Thomas Haden Church, were also revealed by trades before May ended.
At the moment, only the identities of Kunis and Brolin’s characters have been revealed. We’ll find out who the others will be playing with in the coming months.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out MysteryThe story summary has not yet been revealed. In fact, the only thing we really know, other than its cast and writer/director, about Knives out 3 is its official title, which people have turned into amateur sleuths to try to figure out what it means.
It’s no big secret that Johnson’s Knives out The films have been inspired by Agatha Christie. This time, however, we may experience something completely different. In fact, in January 2023, he told Variety: “[That’s] which has me excited creatively. I don’t have to replicate the last movie at all. “The goal is to move in a completely new direction tonally and thematically.”
On Instagram announcing Knives out 3which simply comprise images of a black coffin, as Blanc calls Wake up dead man‘s case is also “my most dangerous case yet,” suggesting that his latest murder mystery might not be so easy to solve.
We don’t expect the third installment of the franchise to be completely different from the previous one, mind you. What unites the previous two? Knives out The films together – along with the murders – are themes of class war, inequality, fame and, like many television and film dramas of the day, criticism of the one percent. It is therefore likely that these themes will also continue to be illuminated in Johnson’s own unique way.
There are already some fascinating fan theories circulating online that Johnson might have planted a little Easter egg in Glass Onion to suggest what Knives out 3 could also be treated. At the beginning of the film, when all the characters gather at the pier on the Greek island of Miles Bron, the gathered guests are surprised to see Blanc. Claire Debella (Kathryn Hahn) soon asks, “You solved the murder of, oh, what’s-her-name, the ballet dancer, are you?”, which some viewers suspect is an insinuation. Wake up dead manThe plot. Will there be a fourth Knives Out movie?
Do you love the kitsch murder mystery franchise? Well, you’re in luck, as Johnson and Craig say they want to keep making fun movies together for as long as they can, which makes it a huge success. Knives out 4 It seems very likely.
Speaking to Variety in 2022, Craig said: “If he [Johnson] Keep writing them, I’ll keep writing them. That’s what makes it easy, he’s such a wonderful writer who is there on the page for me to do it.”
However, the duo is aware of the “quality versus quantity” debate. Speaking to Deadline in November 2022 about a possible fourth film of the Knives out franchise, Craig said: “If it ever got to a point where Rian and I thought we were just churning them out, I think we’d back off. I mean, I don’t think that’s what any of us want to do on Unless people genuinely have fun with them, forget it.”
Meanwhile, in January 2023, Johnson chatted with Netflix Tudum about the possibilities of, as requested by fans, a Knives Out/The Muppets crossing. However, he ultimately ruled it out, explaining, “I think those two things have very different rules. You can have a Benoit Blanc mystery that has the Muppets in it, but they’ll feel out of place. Or you can have a Muppet Movie in the one with Benoit Blanc, but it will feel like a Muppet movie. I wouldn’t want to compromise either of them and I feel like to do it right and make it work, you would have to make a choice and compromise one or the other. I make a movie of the Muppets, I just want to make a great Muppet movie.
