Two stars, an experienced veteran and the other one selection number one, got into a heated fight during a Titans titans practice abrasing on Monday.

Cam Ward field marshal, the first general selection of the NFL 2025 Draft, and the Jeffery Simmons defensive Tackle was seen after an late play in practice.

Ward launched a touchdown to the open receiver Calvin Ridley, and when he went to celebrate, he stopped against Simmons to make fun of him with his characteristic “Zombieland” celebration, something for which Simmons is known after making great defensive plays.

Simmons didn’t like it a little, pushing Ward in the mask mask with both hands.

That caused the offensive line of the Titans to quickly hurry to protect their field marshal, including the left Tackle Dan Moore Jr.

“Absolutely not,” Moore said when asked if someone can play quartback, according to ESPN. “That goes without saying.”

Both players were finally separated. Simmons lost his helmet during the physical altercation and left the field, while Ward ran the next play.

The chief coach of the Titans, Brian Callahan, did not let him pass. After practice, it made the whole equipment in the heat of 96 degrees.

“You get that same attitude, trust, that same advantage every day of those two types,” said corner Jarvis Brownlee Jr. after practice. “That is what you expect. But when it happens with the field marshal, you have to break it as soon as possible. But the brothers fight.”

There had been a tension construction before, since Ward and the right Tackle JC Latham bit themselves with Simmons after a short yardage touchdown led by the corridor Julius Chestnut. Simmons had been talking garbage in the offensive, and Ward and Latham were shooting from the group.

Ward then threw Ridley’s touchdown and decided to maintain rivalry, which led to the clash.

While a competitive advantage is encouraged, even among teammates, during the NFL training fields, nobody wants to see the field marshal involved in physical altercations. Simmons, however, was not going to let Ward mock him with his own celebration, although the Titans clearly want to draw a line with these confrontations.

“You will never want to see your Quarterback in the midst of such things,” Brownlee added. “But when it happens, it shows you the type of dog in it. You won’t take anything.”

Ward, who had only 2 of 7 for 42 yards in his second preseason game over the weekend, will have a final adjustment against the Minnesota Vikings on Friday before his debut in the regular season against the Denver Broncos on September 7.
