LAHORE:
The Water and Energy Development Authority (WAPDA) said Sunday that the total water storage of the country in three main deposits: Tarbela, Mangla and Chashma, and others exceeded 3,021,000 acres.
A WAPDA spokesman said that the entry of water into the Indo River was 131,100 CUSECs in Tarbela against an 82,000 CUSECs output, since the level in the tank reached 1,459.21 feet, with a storage of 1,386,000 acres.
The spokesman added that the water level in the mangla reservoir was 1,142.30 feet with a water storage of 1,418,000 waters of feet, while the level in the chashma tank was recorded at 647.10 feet with the storage of 217,000 acres.
“The entrance and flow of water in the Indo River in Tarbela and Chashma, the Kabul River in Nowshera and the Jhelum River in Mangla are based on the average flow of 24 hours, while the reading of the entrance and exit of water in other places are taken today at 6 am at 6 am [Sunday]”, said.
Giving details, the spokesman declared that the entry of water into the Jhelum River was 52,400 CUSECs in Mangla, while the output flow was 32,000 Cusecs. The entrance to Chashma Barge was 143,800 CUSECs and the exit was 114,000 CUSECs.
He said that the entrance to the Chenab river into the head Marala was 33,100 CUSECs against the output of 13,700 CUSECs, the entrance to the Kabul River in Nowshera was 44,700 Cusecs and the exit was 44,700 Cusecs.
