Wayne Gretzky began to follow Alex Ovechkin on Friday night in the middle of his walk to overcome the Great as the leading scorer of all NHL: The trip was almost made in one day.
Needing three goals to overcome Gretzky, Ovechkin scored twice to tie and tried the most cursed to get a hat trick.
However, Gretzky had been the solo leader for more than 31 years. But now he has a company, and very soon, he will look up for the first time in a long time.

But Gretzky is more than in peace with his record, and soon falls.
“That’s fine … that’s what the game is about,” Gretzky told the monumental sports network shortly after Ovechkin tied him.
“Alex has been excellent for the game, ideal for Washington, ideal for his country of origin. It is wonderful. I am very proud of him, I am proud of what I achieved, and that is what makes our game so wonderful, they are the great athletes we have, and more importantly, the good people who are.”

Gretzky became the scorer of all NHL on March 23, 1994, when he exceeded Gordie Howe with his 802 race target. He scored 92 more before hanging the tacos in 1999 to take their total to 894.
Ovechkin turned on the lamp just four minutes from the game against the Blackhawks of Chicago to inches as close as he could. Then, just over five minutes in the third period, the capitals put themselves at stake, and Ovechkin took advantage, took a pass and crashed beyond goalkeeper Spencer Knight.
