- The CEO of Nvidia, Jensen Huang, praises Trump’s tariffs
- The idea of ”completely visionary” should help boost investment in the US
- Huang also praises the rescinding of AI’s dissemination rule, saying that it will help to accelerate US technology worldwide
The CEO of Nvidia has praised the tariffs recently imposed by the president of the United States, Donald Trump, in nations around the world, calling them “completely visionary.”
Talking with Bloomberg After the recent quarterly results of Nvidia, Jensen Huang was effusive with his support for tariffs and personally by Trump.
Nvidia had revealed record revenues of around $ 44 billion, so it may not be surprising that Huang was eager to stay in good terms with the president and maintain the correct side of the possible tariff changes in the near future.
“We are all in”
“Obviously, I don’t know all your ideas, but let me tell you about two that are incredible,” Huang said.
“The first is completely visionary. The idea that tariffs are a pillar of a bold vision to reindustrialize for manufacturing on land and motivate the world to invest in the United States is an incredible vision. I think this will be a transformative idea for the next century for us.”
“We are all in the idea,” he said. “We are establishing plants and encouraging our partners around the world to invest in the United States, and we have many things, so I am very excited about that.”
“The second important idea,” Huang continued, “is to rescind the role of dissemination of AI, recognizing that it is about limiting US technology, but it is about accelerating US batteries around the world to make sure that, before it is too late, the world accumulates in US batteries during this extraordinary time, the era of AI.”
“These two initiatives are completely visionary, and will be transformative for the United States.”
Huang’s comments occur a day after the HP CEO, Enrique Lores, revealed that his company would increase prices to deal with the increase in costs incurred by tariffs.
Lores said that the company would be forced to take what he called “price actions”, effectively increases through the PC and printing hardware, and would no longer use the distribution center for products sold in Canada or in Latin America.
Huang himself has frequently sought to exalize the virtues of the new society driven by AI, where Nvidia has a fundamental role in feeding the new systems.
Speaking in the recent event of Dell Technology World 2025, Huang called the current technological panorama “a unique opportunity in life: in the last 60 years, this is the greatest reinvention that you and I have seen.”
“This is an incredibly exciting technology, you want to involve it. The impact for your company is incredible, and you want to be one of the first to adopt.”
“This is the beginning of a decade of transformation. But you don’t want to be second, this is the time and you want to be the first.”
