- Galaxy Watch 8 firmware models have appeared
- The new smart watches could appear in July
- It is not clear what updates could the new watch have
Given what Samsung launches new smart watches, we were already waiting for a Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 successor this year, but now there is some real evidence that the Galaxy Watch 8 is really in development.
Tipster @theordysm (through Sammobile) has seen firmware versions for the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8, and as expected, there are different model numbers for versions with additional cellular connection capabilities on board.
It also seems that there will be two sizes of the intelligent watch again this year. The current model is available in sizes of 40 mm and 44 mm, so you can choose the one that best matches the size of the wrist.
And that is almost all the information we can get from this escape in particular: that the Galaxy Watch 8 is on its way. We will have to wait more leaks to obtain details about the updates and any design change that can be in the store.
Classics and ultras

This is not the first filtration of Galaxy Watch 8 that we have seen. In December, the name of the “Galaxy Watch 8 Classic” device was seen in a database of the industry, suggesting that a classic model, with a rotating bezel, could return in 2025.
There was no classic model in 2024, but we obtained the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra along with the Galaxy Watch 7. Samsung may well launch a Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 this year too, but so far there have been no signals of it.
We have also seen a patent that suggests that Samsung is working on a clock strap that is more adjustable and safer than the current models, although the update is unlikely to be ready for this year’s watches.
If Samsung adheres to its schedule last year in 2025, we can expect the Galaxy Watch 8 to appear at some point in July, most likely together with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7, so there is the potential of another great launch event unpacked.
