Islamabad:

With India by sending a flood of Israeli manufacturing drones in multiple cities of Pakistan on Thursday, international and regional players have actively participated with the two nuclear armed neighbors in an attempt to seek decallation and avoid a possible broader conflict.

Unlike the anterior round of military clashes, the current phase seems to have put the region in a non -characterized territory where any calculation error could lead to a great disaster, people familiar with Backchannel diplomacy said.

The sources said that the United States and Saudi Arabia emerged as two main interlocutors between Pakistan and India. Those efforts were more visible on Thursday. While Saudi Arabia sent his Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir to New Delhi in an unbeatized visit, the Secretary of State of the United States, Marco Rubio, spoke with Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal Bin Farhan, and then telephone to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

A reading of the State Department said that Secretary Rubio and Saudi Foreign Minister discussed regional security issues, economic commitment and efforts to reduce tensions between India and Pakistan. I would not provide more details.

The United States is working together with Saudi Arabia to avoid greater escalation between Pakistan and India. Saudi Arabia has a long data relationship with Pakistan and in recent years he has developed close links with India.

Given the geostrategic and economic interests of Saudi Arabia, the climbing in tensions that leads to a broader conflict between India and Pakistan will harm their interests.

Pakistan, according to the sources, told the Saudi and American interlocutors that Islamabad had never wanted the climbing in tensions. He blamed New Delhi for the current crisis. It is believed that Pakistan told those international players that the country wanted the international community to condemn the attacks of Indian missiles aimed at innocent civilians.

Pakistan also informed them that under the pretext of Pahalgam’s attack, India was trying to get away from the Treaty of the Indo’s waters, an agreement to share water that survived wars and other phases of tensions between the two countries.

The sources said that Pakistan asked both the United States and Saudi Arabia that India needs to repair his paths and that he will have to reverse his decision to maintain the treaty in suspense.

These international diplomatic efforts at least led to the opening of the direct communication channel between Pakistan and India at the level of national security advisors. Vice -Prime Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed on Wednesday that Pakistani General, General As As As As Malik, who turns out to be the head of ISI, was in contact with his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval. The director’s military operations were also in contact through their direct line.

The United States and Saudi Arabia persuaded both sides so that at least they would even talk during crisis times.

A statement issued by Prime Minister’s office said the prime minister told the Secretary Rubio that Pakistan firmly condemns the missiles and drone attacks of India, which resulted in the death of 31 civilians, injuries to another 57 and damages to the civil infrastructure. India’s attacks had violated Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, while endangering peace and stability seriously in the southern region of Asia, he added.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolution firm to defend his sovereignty and territorial integrity at all costs. He pointed out that the people of Pakistan were outraged by the acts of war not caused from India, and emphasized that Pakistan reserved the right to act in self -defense, in accordance with article 51 of the UN Charter.

The prime minister appreciated President Trump’s concern for the current security situation in southern Asia.

Secretary Rubio said that the United States was closely following the situation in southern Asia, since he was committed to promoting peace and stability in the region. To this end, he emphasized the need for Pakistan and India to work in close collaboration to reduce the situation.

In Washington, Secretary of State Frame

Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday, said the spokesman for the United States Department, Tammy Bruce.

Rubio, in both telephone calls that took place before the last explosions, “emphasized the need for immediate decalation,” Bruce said in the call readings.

“Expressed the United States support to direct dialogue between India and Pakistan and encouraged continuous efforts to improve communications,” Bruce said.

Showing the delicate balancing law of Rubio’s diplomacy, the two readings of the state department spokesmen, sent to one minute from each other, also included custom messages for each side.

Jaishankar, Rubio reaffirmed his commitment to work with India in the fight against terrorism, Bruce said.

He expressed pain to Prime Minister Shehbaz for the loss reported of civil life in the current conflict between the two neighboring countries, while urging Pakistan to take measures to end the support for terrorist groups, he said.

Separately, the Deputy Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, made a phone call with the high representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice President of the Commission (HR/VP), Kaja Kallas in the initiative of the latter.

The two leaders had also previously discussed the regional situation on May 2, 2025, said a press release issued by the spokesman for foreign offices.

During the call, Deputy PM thanked Kallas for the support and solidarity of the EU with Pakistan during these difficult times.

He firmly condemned the flagrant act of war of India, which violated Pakistan’s sovereignty and endangers regional peace and stability.

Emphasizing that the actions of India violated the UN letter, international law and norms that govern interest relationships, the DPM/FM rejected the unfounded statements of India to attack the terrorist infrastructure. He reiterated that there was no credible evidence to link Pakistan with Pahalgam’s attack.

He added that Pakistan reserved the right to respond properly at a time and place of his election, in accordance with article 51 of the UN Charter and as established in international law.

HR/VP Kallas expressed more condolences for the loss of civil life and extended their sympathies to the families of the victims. She reiterated that both parties must exercise complete restriction and seek dialogue and diplomacy.
