Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2 Episode 1 is now available on Apple TV, and there’s only one question on everyone’s mind after its release: what the heck is Titan X?
Initially they made fun of Monarch Since the first trailer for season 2 last September, the identity of the Monsterverse’s newest kaiju has, unsurprisingly, been kept under wraps. After all, the mystery surrounding Titan
Will Titan X be Biollante’s Season 2 version of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters?
This season’s inaugural trailer may have teased, well, the appearance of Titan X in the Monsterverse. Was Monarch However, the official Season 2 trailer not only indicated that he will be the main antagonist of this season, but also spawned a major fan theory that Titan X will eventually be revealed as Biollante.
If your initial reaction was “…who?”, you’re not alone. Biollante is not as famous, at least in the Western world, as other kaiju associated with Godzilla. However, that doesn’t mean he hasn’t played a vital role in previous Godzilla tales, and it’s for that reason that some believe Monarch The second season will lay the foundation for supernovaThe plot.
But first a history lesson. Making its debut in 1989 Godzilla vs BiollanteThis plant-based titan was created in-universe by Dr. Genichiro Shiragami. Initially, Shiragami spliced his deceased daughter Erika’s DNA with that of a rose bush, but then crossed that human-plant hybrid with Godzilla’s DNA. That fusion resulted in the birth of a mutated, sentient rose that evolves into the gigantic monster known as Biollante.
It would be remiss of me to point out that there is no guarantee that Titan is The Monsterverse version of Biollante. For one, Biollante has never shown his ability to swim in previous Godzilla films, but Titan X seems to be a natural in aquatic environments.
Additionally, Titan X doesn’t look much like Biollante’s design in its big screen appearances. Granted, the pair possess horns and giant tendrils they can wave, but those are the only commonalities they seem to share.
All that said, some viewers are still convinced that Titan X is the Monsterverse version of Biollante. In fact, Reddit threads on r/monsterverse, r/television, and r/godzilla contain numerous comments from die-hard Zilla fans suggesting this will be the case, especially in light of the aforementioned physical characteristics.
Others are not so convinced, naming other more appropriate ocean-dwelling kaiju, such as Gezora, as more likely candidates. A titan like Gezora would also make more sense considering the giant squid-shaped cave paintings that Keiko, Bill, and Lee find on one of their monster-hunting adventures as part of this season’s 1950s-set story.
However, there are reasons to believe that Titan X and Biollante are the same. And while there are many questions about Titan and “why do some people love him?” to name just three: the prospect of it being Biollante means we could be one step closer to solving it. Godzilla x Kong: SupernovaThe villain.
How Biollante’s Appearance in Monarch Season 2 Could Set Up Godzilla x Kong: Supernova
Before continuing, it is worth saying that supernovaThe Big Bad has yet to be publicly revealed. However, since the subtitle of this film relates to the extremely bright and massive explosions that major stars undergo during their final evolution, fans believe that the cosmic titan known as SpaceGodzilla will be its chief antagonist.
Okay, but what does Biollante have to do with SpaceGodzilla? During the Heisei series of the Godzilla film franchise, it was theorized that some of Biollante’s spores, which contain Godzilla’s DNA and were launched into space, are the embryonic cells from which SpaceGodzilla is born. Yes, it sounds ridiculous, but keep going.
Yeah Monarch: Legacy of MonstersThe second season ends with Godzilla and Kong defeating Titan X, and if Titan That would allow him to lead directly to the events of supernovaone of next year’s new movies that is currently scheduled to hit theaters on March 26, 2027.
