Dispersed rain and hail are expected in parts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) over the next 24 hours as a partially cloudy weather system moves through the region, said the department of Pakistan’s meteorology (PMD) on Thursday.
The prognosis indicates thunderstorms accompanied by winding winds in areas such as Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla and Malakand, said Express News.
Hail storms are also possible in isolated locations.
The rain is also likely in Mansehra, Torghar, Kohistan, Battagram and Abbottabad, along with parts of Khyber, Orakzai, Mohmand, Swabi, Mardan, Nowshera, Charsadda and Peshawar.
The southern regions, including Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, Lakki Marwat, Karak and Waziristán Norte and Sur may also experience thunder and rain.
On Wednesday, Peshawar saw light rain, while Dir registered the highest rain at 15 mm. Other notable figures included 11 mm in Malam Jabba, 10 mm in Pattan (Kohistan), 9 mm in Kalam, 4 mm in Saidu Sharif (Swat) and 1 mm in chitral.
Temperatures remained moderate throughout the province. Peshawar registered a maximum of 21 ° C, while Chitral stood at 12th C. Dir Bala Vio 9 ° C, Kalam 7 ° C and Malam Jabba 8 ° C. In the south, Dera Ismail Khan recorded 23 ° C and Bannu 22 ° C.
Meteorological authorities have advised residents and travelers to remain cautious due to the potential of sudden weather changes and localized storms.
