Pakistan’s astronomical experts have projected that Eidul Adha will probably fall on Saturday, June 7, 2025, depending on early moon sighting predictions.
However, the final decision with respect to the date will depend on the sighting of the Moon, with the Central Committee Ruet-E-Hilal to announce the official date after the visibility of the moon in Pakistan.
Meanwhile, the Emirates Astronomy Society has predicted that Eidul Adha will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025 in the United Arab Emirates (EAU).
In the EAU, astronomers predict that Luna Zil Hajj will be visible on the night of May 27, 2025, which means that the first day of Zil Hajj will begin on May 28.
The moon will rise at 7:02 am, and it is expected to be visible for about 38 minutes after sunset, increasing the possibilities of a clear sighting.
Ibrahim Al-Jarwan, president of the Emirates Astronomy Society, declared that the official Eidul Adha date will be confirmed based on Local Luna sightings.
The official holiday calendar of the EAU has already marked the holidays for Eidul Adha, with the established rest from 9 to 12 of Zil Hajj (1445 AH), corresponding to four days of holidays.
Eidul Azha, also known as Feast of Sacrifice, is one of the two main EID festivals held by Muslims worldwide. Honor the will of the prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his Son in obedience to the order of God.
In recognition of this act of devotion, Muslims around the world get involved in the tradition of sacrificing animals, with the flesh shared between family, friends and the least fortunate.
The practice of animal sacrifice is carried out during the three days of EID, symbolizing the commitment of the prophet Ibrahim with the will of God.
This act of generosity not only commemorates a sacred historical moment, but also reinforces the values of charity, gratitude and community within the Muslim faith.
