There were plenty of impressive lawnbots on display at CES 2026, but Segway’s new flagship Navimow has a trick I didn’t see anywhere else. It all has to do with how it handles tight corners, and I had the chance to quiz a brand executive on how exactly it all works.
I spoke with Tony Ho, vice president of business development at Segway Navimow, and he told me that some other lawn robots had a tendency to agitate the grass when turning (a common requirement, since most lawn robots these days mow in straight, parallel lines, rotating at the top of each row).
The “difficulty on the ground” part is also important. The X4 was designed specifically with large, challenging yards in mind, the type that are common in North America.
Tony says the X4 is one of his favorites of the five new models the brand will launch in 2026. “It’s a showcase of the best technology we have,” he says. “I definitely have high hopes for the X4; we think it will be our year this year.”
I tested this model’s predecessor and, as you’ll discover in my five-star review of the Segway Navimow X3, I was very impressed. However, one thing that really caught my attention is that the design couldn’t be more different. The X3 is one of the friendliest lawn robots out there, while the X4 feels much meaner.
Tony admits that at first he thought the look was “a little stupid.” He explains that it is aimed at the market segment that prefers macho-looking devices. “It’s partly aimed at people who love cars, as opposed to the cute robot type,” he explains.
Personal style preferences aside, I’ll be very interested to see how this model performs in the real world. The version I saw was US only and is available in two versions: the X430, which is designed for up to one acre and costs $2,499, and the X450 for up to 1.5 acres and costs $2,999. There will be a similar UK version joining the lineup at some point; watch this space.
