During a meeting with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Iranian President Masoud Peeshkian said Iran gave great importance to his relations with Islamabad and thanked the minister for his support during the recent 12 -day war against Israel.
Warning that Israel was trying to create a crack among Muslim countries, President Pezeshkian asked for “inevitable” unity and harmony among Islamic countries.
Underlining the importance of diplomatic exchanges and constructive dialogue to improve cooperation between the two countries, he expressed their satisfaction on current bilateral relations between neighboring nations.
The Iranian president also accentuated that Pakistan and Iran had immense opportunities to improve cooperation, saying that his country would never forget the support extended by Pakistan during his war with Israel.
Meanwhile, Naqvi congratulated President Pezeshkian for achieving a “great victory” and recalled Pakistan’s support for Iran, saying that Islamabad strongly condemned the attack against Tehran in each forum.
He pointed out that Pakistan’s Parliament was the first to approve a resolution condemning the war imposed on Iran and supported Iran’s legitimate right to self -defense.
The comments of the two leaders arrive weeks after an armed conflict of 12 days between Israel and Iran on June 13 after the Israeli air attacks in the Iranian military, nuclear and civil objectives, which resulted in at least 606 deaths and 5,332 injuries, according to Iran’s Ministry of Health.
In response, Tehran carried out attacks with missiles and drones against Israel, killing at least 29 people and hurting more than 3,400, according to data from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
The conflict also saw the United States by bombarding Iran’s multiple nuclear facilities and said the attacks destroyed Iran’s nuclear program.
The fight finally ended with a high fire of the United States that began on June 24.
Meanwhile, about the nuclear problem, Tehran has said that its cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (OIEA) “will assume a new form” and has expressed its desire for a diplomatic solution to solve concerns about its nuclear program.
Iran’s cooperation with the OIEA “has not stopped, but will assume a new form”, after the Islamic Republic formally ended cooperation with the UN regulator in early July.
Iran has blamed Oiea in part of the June attacks to its nuclear facilities, which Israel says it was launched to prevent them from developing a nuclear weapon, an ambition that Tehran has repeatedly denied.
