After the main layoffs, the rumors also began to circulate that the Xbox chief is also ready to retire, with Obligations Leaker Ghostofhope alleging that “Phil Spencer will retire from his role as CEO from Microsoft Gaming after the launch of the next Xbox generation” and that Sarah Bond, current president of Xbox, would assume the role.
However, Microsoft has now filed and denied these statements, insisting that Spencer will remain in his role, presumably, a good time.
In a statement to Verge, Kari Pérez, Head of Communications of Xbox, said: “Phil will not retire in the short term.”
