Whit Merrifield retires, hilariously apologizes with the Fan of the Philis for the bad game

The three-time All-Star MLB Whit Merrifield announced his retirement in a social media post on Tuesday.

Merrifield, 36, wrote in his publication of retirement ads how much of a privilege was to play for each of the cities with which time passed during his career. When he approached his time with the Philadelphia Philis, he apologized hilariously for his poor game with the team.

“Philadelphia, I liked it much more than you liked. I’m sorry, I stun for you,” Merrifield wrote in the publication.

Merrifield played 53 games with the Philis in 2024 and hit a miserable .199 with three homers and 11 ranges. Merrifield’s numbers with the Philis were a deviation from his normal stable game throughout his career.

During his nine -year career, Merrifield had an average bat of .280 and hit 94 homers.

Merrifield passed parts of seven seasons with the real Kansas City, who then exchanged it with the Toronto Blue Jays on the 2022 exchange deadline. The second base played with the tiles for two seasons before joining the Philis before the 2024 season.

After being designated for the assignment of the Philis, Merrifield signed with his childhood team, the Atlanta Braves, during the rest of the 2024 season.

Merrifield said his retirement was an “easy decision”, and that the main factor in his retirement was the baby that he and his wife had in March 2024. He said at this time of his life that “rather he would persecute a small child who pursuing sliding controls.”

The former real star said that her only baseball repentance was not to win a world series for any of the teams for which she played.

Merrifield led the main hits leagues twice in his career (2018, 2019). Merrifield also led the league in robberies with 45 in 2018 and led the American League in theft in 2017 and 2021 with 34 and 40 robberies respectively in each of those years.
