A royal expert and former press secretary to the late Queen Elizabeth II has revealed the real reason it took so long for King Charles to take action against his brother Andrew.
Talking to him People Magazine’s Ailsa Anderson, who worked for the late Queen from 2001 to 2013, revealed that Andrew had been “dancing his heels”
She said: “Andrew had been dragging his feet. They had to seek constitutional and legal advice and advice on the Royal Lodge lease.”
Anderson went on to say, “They had to cross all the I’s and T’s before making this announcement.”
The report also quoted Anderson as saying the matter would have been difficult for King Charles.
The Queen’s former aide said: “There must be mixed emotions for him. That’s why this has taken so long. It’s family and monarchy, and when the lines are blurred it’s very difficult for them.”
In Andrew’s next chapter, Ailsa Anderson said: “It’s unprecedented. He’s been banished to Sandringham. He’s only 65 and you wonder what he’s going to do.”
Another royal expert, Catherine Mayer, said: “It’s horrible for the royals, and that’s another reason it’s taken them so long to do it.
“They understand very well that the survival of the monarchy is not just something that happens by active consent but because people don’t think very deeply about what the alternatives will be or don’t have strong enough reasons to think they want to replace it.” them“.
