Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith have canceled their trial over custody issues over their five-year-old daughter Juno.
According to a legal document, the defense of the 39-year-old actress asked the court on October 14 to remove the former couple’s divorce trial from the judicial calendar, which was scheduled to begin on Wednesday, October 15, via People.
The presentation revealed that The queen and thin The actress and the 47-year-old actor are working outside of court to reach an agreement regarding custody of their daughter.
The court document said: “[Turner-Smith and Jackson] They are in the process of negotiating a custody sentence. “The parties will return to the temporary judge with private compensation to resolve any impasse in the proposed custody ruling,” the documents read.
This came after Jackson filed for emergency custody against Jodie on May 30, alleging that Jodie admitted her 5-year-old daughter Juno to a new school without her permission, which exceeded the travel range they had both agreed to: 45 minutes from their home.
“The defendant respectfully requests orders ensuring that the minor continues to attend her current school during the upcoming 2025-2026 academic year,” the court document said, “and that joint parental consent is required for any subsequent school changes.”
For the uninitiated, Turner-Smith filed for divorce from Jackson in October 2023 after four years of marriage. They finalized their divorce in May 2025.
At the time of the filing, the former couple agreed to joint custody of their daughter and that Jackson would pay $2,787 a month in child support.
However, Juno’s academic future has been a point of contention between the couple since they filed for divorce.
