A westerly wave is expected to approach southwest Balochistan on April 1 and persist until April 4.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Monday issued a weather advisory predicting widespread rain, wind and thunderstorms, with isolated heavy falls and hailstorms, in several regions of the country from April 1 to 4, 2026.
According to a PMD press release, a westerly wave was expected to approach the southwestern parts of Balochistan on April 1 and persist till April 4, affecting several provinces.
Balochistan would experience heavy rainfall and thunderstorms, along with isolated hailstorms, in areas such as Panjgur, Turbat, Kech, Awaran, Makran Coast, Lasbella and several other regions during the period. Occasional intervals of rain are expected during this period, the PMD stated.
He further stated that Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa would also experience rain, thunderstorm and snowfall over mountains in places like Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kalam and others. In isolated areas, heavy falls and hailstorms are likely.

Rain, wind and thunderstorm are expected in Punjab and Islamabad, with isolated hailstorms in Murree, Galiyat, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Sargodha and other districts. Heavy rain is likely in and around Dera Ghazi Khan, the PMD added.
According to the PMD forecast, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir would experience rain, wind and thunderstorm, with snowfall in the mountains. Isolated hailstorms and heavy rainfall are expected in certain areas.
Sindh, including Karachi, Thatta, Badin, Hyderabad, Sukkur and other cities, would experience rain, wind and thunderstorms with isolated hailstorms from April 2 to 4, with occasional interruptions in rainfall.
Flash floods were expected in northeast Balochistan including Khuzdar, Awaran, Kharan and other areas as well as in local streams and nullahs of KP from April 2 to 4. Vulnerable regions in upper KP, GB and AJK were at risk of landslides during the period.
Wind and hail storms can damage weak structures such as power poles, billboards, and solar panels. Farmers were advised to take protective measures to protect their crops from inclement weather, the PMD advisory states.
He added that tourists and travelers were urged to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary travel during the planned period. Additionally, daytime temperatures were expected to decrease across the country.
The PMD asked all authorities concerned to remain alert and take necessary precautions to avoid any untoward incident during the planned period. The weather system was expected to continue beyond April 4.
