The celebrations of Independence Day under the official issue of Marka-E-HAQ have begun through Pakistan with events and activities that are carried out throughout the country.

Marka-E-HAQ refers to the period of conflict with India from the attack of the pahalgama on April 22 to the conclusion of May 10 of Operation Bunyan-Mou-Marshus.

This year, it is likely that parts of the country witness a four -day vacation stretch in August, since Independence Day and Chehlum of Hazrat imam Hussain (RA) are expected to fall on consecutive days.

According to the Division of the Cabinet, on August 14 it will be observed as a holiday throughout the country to commemorate Independence Day.

It is expected that Chehlum, which marks the day 40 after the martyrdom of Hazrat imam Hussain (RA), falls on Thursday, August 15.

Although it does not appear among federal holidays, provincial governments and local administrations have the authority to declare a vacation in their respective regions.

In 2024, the Sindh government declared holidays for all public and private schools throughout the province on the occasion of Chehlum.

If similar provincial vacations are declared this year, it could result in an extended weekend, with Friday, August 16 and Saturday, August 17, combining with the official holidays for a possible four -day break.

From now on, formal ads are still expected for Chehlum related vacations at the provincial level.
