- Intel Arrow’s update are rumored for the second half of 2025
- These desktop CPU supposedly come with a much more powerful NPU
- This will allow them to use Copilot+ functions for the first time on the desk, but the players will be less than impressed, no doubt
Intel’s Arrow Lake update processors, which are rumored that are the next Team Blue desktop CPUs that arrives later in 2025, can come with a surprise turn, an approach to hold the AI.
The Verge collected an article by ZDNET Korea (translated) that states that the main impulse of Arrow Lake Refresh will be a new NPU, and that the GPU and the processor nuclei will continue to be the same as existing Arrow Lake chips.
It is said that the NPU recruited for next -generation desktop CPUs is the one included with the CPUs of the Lunar laptop laptop. We are told that the only other change will be the ‘slightly higher watch speeds for the update of Lake Arrow.
Currently, Arrow Lake desktop chips have a NPU, but it is too weak to accelerate the features of Copilot+ (such as the search for Windows with AI, as well as the recovery ability based on divisive snapshots and a few other tricks also).
With the NPU of the lunar lake on board, these notebook processors are currently used for co -driver+ laptops, desktop computers with CPU of arrow soft drinks The lake could completely access those same AI powers.
Analysis: A new goal for Arrow Lake?
A switch like this to focus on AI would be a fairly radical movement, bringing exclusive features of Copilot+to the world of desktop PC for the first time.
However, what we must remember is that this (potentially) is happening in a context of Arrow Lake, very disappointing players. In fact, as ZDNET’s article, the previous generation of desktop silicon (Raptor Lake Refresh) points out, has been selling Arrow Lake from three to one in Korea.
Given that fact, together with the failed attempts to perfect Arrow Lake to be significant for games through BIOS patches since the chips were launched, if Intel is configured to display an update of these CPU in 2025 (which is not confirmed, I must point out), the company may feel that the games are at this point a lost cause (effectively).
So, in that sense, a radical change, as an approach in overhabiting the NPU, delivering measurable benefits for desktop PCs in terms of those Windows 11 characteristics blocked behind a ‘wall of AI’ so to speak, it might seem like a path that is worth exploring.
I am not convinced of this, the mind, and I will be waiting for other sources about the vine to support this before I start feeling more persuaded than this is the address in which Intel is directed. After all, the existence of Arrow Lake Refresh in itself has been a somewhat controversial issue in the past: the first, is rumored, then rumored to cancel the chips, and more recently, it has been said that it is said that this Frribech has been said, what happens, what happens. Skepticism is required in summary, in summary.
If this works, it is worth noting that players receive nothing: the fastest watch speeds will help take some more pictures per second, sure. Although the way in which it is expressed as only “a little” faster watches does not sound too promising in terms of a decent elevation, and it is doubtful that there is a lot of space for that, anyway.
The launch period of Arrow Lake Refresh is supposedly the second half of the year, but given this rumor, which is a heavy speculation, only appears now, this indicates a subsequent case, instead of before, in H2 2025, I suppose.
