- Windows 11 has a new preview built for testers
- Presents a useful feature to recover from starting failures
- There is also the beginning of work in the tests in a PC migration capacity
Windows 11 has a new previous version that includes some important features that include a new method to recover a PC that does not start at all.
This is the Build 26200.5622 view on the DEV channel, and brings a capacity called Rapid Machine Recovery (or QMR) that Microsoft has spoken in the past (in fact, it was revealed in Ignite 2024).
The idea is to move the QMR switch on the configuration application, and if its PC does not start in the future, Windows 11 will try to automatically solve the problem with the “device recovery solutions”.
It will do it through the Windows recovery environment (known as Winre for abbreviation), from where the impotible PC can connect to the local network and Microsoft can analyze the diagnostic data to determine the problem and (hopefully) I had through a patch to solve the error.
The ultimate goal is to enable this default on all home Windows 11 PCs, although it will work differently for commercial devices (where IT administrators will administer functionality).
Another important movement with this compilation is the beginning of the deployment of a new PC migration function to PC for Windows 11. This is only the initial gears of the machinery that is put in its place, mind, and everything you will see is a landing and pairing page in the backup application for Windows 11 for now.
But this functionality is coming, and will allow you to transfer all your files and configurations from your current Windows 11 PC to a new one (during the configuration process for that machine) easily.
A new option for telephone link users is the introduction of the ability to reflect the screen of your Android phone with a single click an icon on the Start menu. That could be a very useful shortcut for some people.
There is also another change for the Widgets board, where Microsoft has implemented a navigation bar to the left, which allows you to change between a selection of panels. That includes a dedicated widget board or other options, such as a sports food or games, etc.
Finally, for those with a co -pilot+ PC, there is a new option to click to do, the shortings of the context bank to several skills related to AI. This is ‘Draft with co -pilot in Word’ that can be invoked with any chosen piece of text, and gets co -pilot to write something longer in that selection.
ANALYSIS: Facilitate life
This is a promising construction in terms of facilitating things for Windows 11 users who are at a more rookie level with their computer skills.
While hardened PC enthusiasts may not think about configuring a new PC and applying all their favorite configurations, together with the installation of their favorite applications, less technology can have difficulty putting their home in order in this regard. The PC to PC migration installation in backup applications seems to be a great solution for these people.
Similarly, a PC that does not start is a nightmare for beginners and, in fact, it is afraid for Windows 11 users even more connoisseurs. Therefore, QMR with its automated analysis of searching for starting problems should be a considerable step to solve PC problems that do not even reach the desktop. Of course, he will live or die about the quality and precision of his problem solving skills, which remain to be seen.
The other problem is that it is still early for these two key features, but now they are officially in the tests, we know they are incoming, and I cannot see that Microsoft eliminates them before its launch, these additions are too important.
So, it is only a matter of time before we see arriving, perhaps even in Windows 11 25h2 at the end of this year, although it could be a more modest annual update.
