- We put Windows 11 at the Lenovo Legion Go S in several games, according to new reference points
- Both models use the same hardware, the only difference being operating systems
- It is a climax of why hand PC players are contemplating a switch to Steamos
Microsoft Windows 11 has been less favorable for PC users for hand games than alternatives, considering their non -portable user experience in all areas. While Valve’s vapor have triumphed in that department, a new comparison highlights a broader potential gap between operating systems.
According to the Dave2D (on YouTube) reference points of Lenovo Legion Go, the Windows 11 version has a worse performance in several games, compared to the recently launched Steimos model, which has a performance elevation of up to 25% (specifically in Cyberpunk 2077).
Both devices use the same hardware, with Ryzen Z2 Go of AMD (or Z1 Extreme, depending on the configuration), and the operating system is the only difference. Photo below, The brightness 3 It works at 76 fps in Steamos, while it only manages 66 fps in Windows 11 in Legion Go S.
While Windows 11 Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Win in the comparison, it is only for 1 FPS compared to the Steamos version that maintains 63 fps. Other titles show a clear and important performance elevation using the beloved Valve operating system; It also corroborates the previous reference points that I have made with Bazzite (essentially a clone of Steamos).
The advantage of using Stemos may not be a surprise, since Microsoft has not yet made an important attempt to improve user experience for hand players. It is more than likely because the approach is on the desktop PC (which have bloatware and software that are not necessary for games).
However, there are also cases in which the Linux -based operating system exceeds Windows 11 on PC for desktop games (and is evident through elitebossslayer’s Final Fantasy 7 Benchmark on YouTube), so this also applies to all PC players in Windows 11.

ANALYSIS: There are only a few things that prevent me from changing Stea on my PC for desktop games …
I have already abandoned Windows 11 in my allied Asus Rog in favor of Bazzite, and it is a great relief with a much better user experience. It has made me consider doing the same for my PC for desktop games, but there is a main reason why I will not still.
Discord is my main center for games and game transmission to friends, and it is not as simple as I would like it to be. Supposedly, personalized versions such as Vesktop in Github make transmission possible, but with frequent discord updates, it would probably require constant solutions and touch -ups to keep it working.
It is also worth noting that using mods for games will not be as simple as it is with Windows 11, and some games that use anti-treatment software cannot be executed in Linux. The easiest solution is to maintain both operating systems in separate units, but I must admit that it would be easier to focus on one.
In addition to that, there is almost no reason why I stay with Windows 11 if I am mainly using my system for the games, and despite the disadvantages mentioned above, I am closer to doing the switch …
