Winter chills grip Karachi as temperatures drop below average

Karachi experiences clear skies and cooler temperatures this week as winter intensifies across Sindh.

The minimum temperature in the city was recorded at 11.8°C, while the maximum is expected to be 24°C and the minimum is 10°C during the next 24 hours.

Daytime conditions remain sunny with mild temperatures, while nights have become significantly cooler.

Neighboring areas such as Thatta and Badin also experience cold nights, with minimum temperatures of 9°C in Badin and higher humidity levels of 87%.

Meanwhile, inland regions like Dadu and Larkana are witnessing some of the coldest nights, with minimum temperatures plummeting to 6-8°C.

Thatta is experiencing mostly sunny weather, with temperatures ranging between 11 and 13°C and humidity levels between 60 and 70%.

Hyderabad continues to experience clear skies and cold weather, with minimum temperatures dropping to 11-13°C. Meanwhile, Mirpurkhas stands out as one of the coldest areas in the region, with temperatures ranging between 7 and 9°C and humidity reaching a maximum of 87%.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has not forecast any significant rainfall for Karachi or its surrounding areas in the coming days. The clear and sunny weather, typical of the winter season, is expected to persist, offering ideal conditions for outdoor activities.

As Karachi residents prepare for colder nights, residents are advised to take necessary precautions, especially for vulnerable groups such as children and the elderly, to avoid cold-related health problems.

Previously, strong winds were forecast on December 24 and 25, with gusts reaching speeds of 25 to 35 km/h, as predicted by Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz.
