- Numerous Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 have been promoted, pointing to many updates
- The most prominent aspects include more dust resistance and a new 200 MP camera
- There is also talk of a thinner construction, larger and more
For years, Samsung seems happy to make minimal updates on his folding flagships, as if he had perfected the formula and there was nothing left to do. But, in fact, as impressive as the Galaxy Z folding line is that it makes a lot of improvement margin, and with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 we could finally obtain many significant updates.
According to a publication of Tipster @thegalox_ on X (through Gsmarena), the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 will have numerous improvements, including better water and dust resistance than its predecessor.
In fact, we have no complaints about the water resistance of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, but desperately needs a decent amount of dust resistance, so this sounds promising.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 apparently will also have a new 200MP camera, which should be a great improvement in the 50MP primary patch used by the Z FOLD 6 (and the two previous Z FOLD generations).
A smaller fold is also mentioned, which should help minimize one of the main problems with folding phones, and the low show camera is also apparently updating, which is good, because previously the low show cameras of Samsung have not worked particularly well.
Galaxy Z fold7 | What’s new? • A UI 8 outside the box • Updated in the Visualization Chamber • Stronger screen with new layers • Larger to 8 “inside and 6.5” outside • New main camera of 200 MP • thinner body to 4.5 mm deployed • Improved water and powder resistance • Small fold … pic.twitter.com/1ZZVMWDJNEApril 8, 2025
Bigger, thinner and more powerful
Other listed improvements include a stronger screen, 8 -inch folding lid screens and 6.5 inches larger (compared to 7.6 inches and 6.3 inches respectively in the galaxy Z fold 6), and incredibly thin compilation of 4.5 mm thick when developing (reduced from 5.6 mm).
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 should also be powerful, since, as expected, it will apparently have an elite chipset Snapdragon 8, but it is also said that it has a larger steam camera, which should help keep it fresh under pressure, so it can better maintain maximum performance. This should also help battery life, which is good because folding phones tend to have quite small batteries.
In fact, the battery is not mentioned here, which could mean that it will not grow, but @thegalox_ mentions that the phone will apparently will have speakers and a vibration engine, and that it will run an UI 8, which is the Samsung version of Android 16, of the box.
That is a large amount of updates if this leak is precise, and it can do it because some parts, including the 200MP camera, the elite chipset Snapdragon 8, the thinnest construction, the smallest fold, the largest screens and the largest steam camera, have been suggested by other sources previously.
The most skeptical part is the improved resistance to water and dust, since the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 already has enough water resistance (although some phones such as OnePlus 13 make it beating with the IP69 classifications), and we assume that improving dust resistance would be complicated, since this is something that all folding phones fight.
Anyway, we should find out in a few months, since it is likely that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be launched in July, along with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7.
