Princess Diana and Prince Carlos went to a very private honeymoon just after her marriage.
The former Princess of Wales, who married the king in 1981, made a 14 -day cruise on board the Royal Yacht Britannia.
Speaking about his newly married time, Ken Wharfe and Diana and former Chief of Chaf of Charles, Mervyn Wycherley, told The Sun: “Well, I was very lucky. I had worked with her majesty Queen Elizabeth before for ten years, and I transferred for the honeymoon.”
“I became his chief of cooking that day and stayed with them throughout their marriage life.
“We were a very small staff in those days. There was a dressing table, two police officers, private secretaries and all travel with them and, of course, 250 sailors.
“So it was a very private honeymoon.”
He added: “They are fun. The food is quite simplistic.
“They love simple foods, but always foods of very good quality and very organic, and it has always been the same, that the whole family has interest in food, especially their real highness.
“Well, for the king he is now very, very interested in his food and enjoys having a setting and with menus and all kinds of things.”
