A woman and a child were killed, and two other wounded, when a Dumper truck loaded with sand overturned on a car near the Karachi drigh road in the early hours of Tuesday.
After being informed, the rescue teams rushed to the scene and transferred the bodies and wounded to the hospital for legal formalities and medical treatment, respectively.
The initial reports suggest that the vehicle was crushed under the heavy Dumper, which resulted in fatal consequences.
A representative of a local welfare organization, Shahid Hussain, has confirmed that the fatal accident of the road occurred around 3:15 am during a dangerous race among the Dumper trucks.
Speaking to the media at the scene, Shahid Hussain said that one of the Dumpers overturned during the race and crushed a private car with a family. “A woman and a child were killed in the spot, while two others suffered wounds,” he added.
The spokesman criticized the reckless behavior of Dumpers’s drivers and requested a strict application of traffic laws to avoid such mortal incidents in the future.
