Workers’ children offered free higher education

Punjab Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced that workers’ children will be admitted to seven campus of the University of Comsats and that the Punjab government will pay their fees.

The Welfare Fund for Punjab workers has invited to requests under the free education initiative for children of industrial and miners.

The Prime Minister said: “Doors of higher education institutions are being opened for the children of each worker in Punjab. No child in Punjab will now be deprived of education.”

Children from disabled and deceased workers will also receive free education at the university.

The CM was informed that registered workers could submit applications before July 9 at the Islamabad Campus, on July 17 in Lahore, on July 4 on Wah Cantt and Abbottabad, on July 11 in Vehari and Atock and on August 15 in Sahiwal.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz declared in his message on Father’s Day: “I pray for each son and daughter to get a father who gives them the courage to dream and turn his dreams into reality.”

In another message on the global wind day, the main minister said: “There are immense opportunities for the generation of wind energy in the Thal de Punjab area.”

She stressed: “Punjab will explore the possibilities for the generation of wind energy through the public-private association.”
