When Wyatt Hendrickson defeated Gable Stevenson for the NCAA heavyweight fighting championship on Sunday, people were not joking about how large it was.

“It was absolutely the greatest discomfort in the history of fans,” the WWE legend and the gold medalist of the Olympic struggle Kurt Angle a Pak Gazette Digital said recently.

“It definitely goes up with the Miracle hockey team and Buster Douglas knocking Mike Tyson, definitely.”

That is an honor, but Angle is not just saying that. He is well versed in the world of wrestling as an Olympic champion, world champion and NCAA champion.

Angle even cited the great herb Brooks when he discussed the fight.

“If they fight 100 times, 99 times, Gable Stevenson would have hit him, not only hit him, but hit him generously,” Angle said. “This was just a strange night. It was Wyatt Hendrickson’s night, and I give him a lot of credit. He kept fighting, and that shows the type of strength he has. I am sure he obtained it from the Air Force.”

Hendrickson, a second lieutenant of the Air Force, greeted President Donald Trump after victory after being covered with an American flag, a moment, said Angle, it seemed that he was out of a film.

Wyatt Hendrickson by Oklahoma State talks about Trump’s appearance in the NCAA fighting championship

“He went out with the American flag, Mr. America. I know it wasn’t, but it is almost as if it were fixed, as if it were a movie. It was crazy,” Angle joked. “President Trump is there, congratulating Wyatt after winning. You couldn’t write a better script for a movie.”

Angle also speculated that Hendrickson simply wanted the fight more, given Stevenson’s already impressive curriculum.

“I think Gable said: ‘Hey, I won the Olympic Games, I won the NCAA, I’m fine.’ It wasn’t as if I had this extra fire inside him like Wyatt Hendrickson,” Angle said. “This was something strange: I am giving Wyatt a lot of credit, he fought hard. But Gable levels on Wyatt, rightly. But I give Wyatt credit, he made this happen.”

Stevenson has tried his hand at the WWE, even appearing with Angle in 2022. He even signed with the Buffalo Bills last year, but did not make the team. Angle said that if I tried it again this year, the team would do, but it has another prediction for Stevenson, who has already called “one of the best” in the history of wrestling.

“I think Gable Stevenson will be a formidable fighter in the MMA, either UFC or Bellator or whatever,” said Angle. “He will be a MMA fighter, and if he fights at the UFC, I think you are going to see a new UFC champion. Gable is that athletic. The child is incredible. For him to be in a heavyweight division and be as Atlético as it is, it is nothing less than incredible. The child is only the height and the right, there is doubt of that.”
