Xander Schauffele reveals that he does not maintain trophies, insecure where the Olympic gold is

Xander Schauffele has become one of the best golfers in the world in recent years, but no one would know if they took a tour of their home.

Schauffele has won nine times on the PGA tour, including PGA championships and open last year for his first and second specialization of his career. He also won the Tour championship in 2017, as well as three presidents of presidents and an Ryder Cup.

There is also Tokyo’s Olympic gold medal in 2021, and despite a lot of hardware, none of that is at home.

Schauffele revealed in Royal Portrush this week, before defending their title, that their parents have all their trophies “probably in a bank vault somewhere.”

Except for the gold medal.

“I really have no idea where it is, to be completely honest,” said Schauffele.

“What am I going to do with that? I really do not invite people to my house. I’m going to see it myself? I don’t want to enter a trophies like ‘Look how good I am’. I was raised to think that way, and it’s stuck.”

That raises the question: what is on the shelves of his house in Florida, if not trophies?

“My wife hung some photos of mine in my gym of me winning the Olympic medal, and she put it so high that I can’t reach it,” Schauffele said. “I have to get a staircase now, and it bothers me. If something, place me in a master’s jacket, as I pounded, do you know what I mean? Something like this is more motivating.”

Schauffele will take off along with the current winner of the United States Open, JJ Spaun, and the two -time Major Jon Rahm champion at 4:58 am et on Thursday.
