Carolina Panthers The open receiver Xavier Legette began his second year campaign with an expulsion after he put himself in a physical fight during the first preseason game of the team against the Cleveland Browns on Friday night.
Legette, the first round of the Panthers in the NFL 2024 draft, was expelled along with the safety of the Browns Rayshawn Jenkins with just over six remaining in the first quarter after exchanging blows in the field.

This fight occurred after Jenkins seemed to continue blocking Legette long after the work ended.

Legette landed several blows, while Jenkins managed to remove the helmet during the altercation.
The chief coach of the Panthers, Dave Canales, told the journalists after the game that Legette had been doing what was supposed during the play, but added that both players deserved a disqualification after getting physical.

“Then they started exchanging blows, you can’t do that. None of the parts. Both boys were expelled, rightly,” he continued.
“We cannot have that as part of our game. It is a physical game … the temperature will get hot, but as soon as suddenly, we are at a disadvantage. So, we want to see better X for sure.”
Legette apologized to fans after the game in an X publication.

“Panthers Nation apologizes that I want to happen again,” said his publication. “I appreciate everyone.”
Panthers start their season on the way against Santos de New Orleans on September 8.
