- The smuggling of Avalanche Studios apparently is no longer
- The game only received a CG trailer with public orientation
- There has been no news about the game in the four years since its announcement.
Xbox Game Studios has canceled Smuggling, A game that would not blame you for not remembering, since we only saw it once in the form of a CG trailer.
Smuggling, being developed by Just cause and Mad Max’s Avalanche Studios, was initially revealed in 2021, accompanied by a trailer that did not give much beyond its sandy environment of the 70s.
Initially informed by Bloomberg, it seems that Smuggling Now it has been canceled or at least has made its development stop at the moment. The reporter Jason Schreier states that the project has been canceled “after four years of radio silence.”
Avalanche Studios continued with the confirmation on its own website, saying: “In recent years, Avalanche Studios Group and Xbox Game Studios Publishing have collaborated in smuggling. The active development has now stopped while we evaluate the future of the project. We are grateful for the emotion we have seen from the community since we announced and we will give an update on what is as we can.”
A cancellation at this time may not be so surprising to Smuggling, But anyway, it is not a good look for Xbox. The company recently canceled two high -profile games on rare Always and the initiative Perfect dark reboot. That is together with another recent round of mass layoffs, where thousands of employees were allowed to go in several studies.
In July, the head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, described the actions taken as “difficult decisions”, claiming the platform, the hardware and the Xbox game map have never been stronger “despite the apparent instability of the Xbox Game Studios umbrella.
