- Nintendo Switch 2 supports traditional USB mouse controls
- This was revealed in a presentation for Nobunaga Ambition: Awakening Complete Edition
- Open the mouse support possibilities and wider keyboard on switch 2
If you do not like the idea of dragging the Joy-Con 2 through your desk to access Nintendo Switch 2 mouse controls, it turns out that you don’t have to do it.
Michi Ryu, producer of Koei Tecmo’s Switch 2 Port of Nobunaga’s ambition: Awakening, He has revealed that the next game admits traditional USB mice in the new console (through VGC).
Ryu begins the demonstration, which you can see for yourself in the video below, playing the game in the Mouse mode of the Joy-Con 2. “The functionality is the same as the Steam version already released, which allows left click, right click, right click and wheel operations,” he says.

Around the 11-minute brand in the video, Ryu reveals that a USB mouse has connected to the Nintendo Switch 2 system, having priority over the Joy-Con 2 as the main control method. Ryu can still use several shortcuts assigned to the Joy-Con 2 on the left.
While being able to use a USB mouse on Switch 2 is great news, it is still unknown about how the generalized mouse support will be with other Nintendo Switch 2 games. For example, I can see that the USB mouse support is excellent for Civilization 7 and Cyberpunk 2077 on switch 2.
However, it is worth noting that some Nintendo games first may not be a great option for traditional mice. Which includes Drag x and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond – Which have quite mice control schemes as they will presumably be more suitable for the Joy-Con 2 and its additional buttons.
Even so, the USB Mouse support is a great thing to see independently. I could even open the possibilities of, for example, a Final Fantasy 14 Online either The Elder Scrolls Online The ports to change 2, assuming that the console also has keyboard support as the original switch did.
