- A new report points to limited availability for Samsung Tricold
- We could be waiting until November before it goes on sale
- Even then, you may have difficulty finding it outside South Korea and China
All indications are that Samsung plans to present its first smart phone tri-glide at an event on Monday, September 29, but if you believe a new report, we will wait a while before it really goes on sale.
The report comes from the ET news of South Korea (through @jukanlosreve), and although we trust the Google translator to understand all the details, the prediction here is that it will not be available to buy until November.
In addition, only 50,000 units are being produced to start, with Samsung apparently wanting to try the market to see what is the response to your new device, about 10 times that the number of shipments of the Samsung Galaxy Z fold 7, to compare to compare.
This would make sense given a couple of other details that we have previously heard about this folding: which will cost a significant amount of money (maybe up to $ 3,500 / £ 2,610 / AU $ 5.375), and that can only be available in South Korea and China, at least to start.
A limited launch
Without a doubt, Samsung fans outside of South Korea and China would be disappointed not to have the opportunity to buy this phone, but we have seen this strategy before the company, more recently with the special edition of Galaxy Z Fold launched in October 2024.
The latest ET News report does not mention international availability, so we will have to wait and see, but 50,000 units will not go far. The article says that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is selling well, and Samsung does not want to risk affecting it too much with a new device.
At the moment, there are simply not enough market data to know how popular Samsung will be. The only triple phone currently in the market is the Huawei Mate XT, which is also very expensive and also difficult to obtain in most markets around the world.
All eyes will be in Samsung on September 29, then, if that is the launch date for the triple, which mocked for the first time in January. Before that, we hope to see the Galaxy S25 FE and the Galaxy Tab S11 series on September 4.
