Young man killed while recording a TikTok video in Karachi

KARACHI:

A young man was killed and two of his friends injured in a car accident while filming a video for popular video-sharing platform TikTok in Korangi on Saturday night.

The deceased, identified as Faraz, lost control of the vehicle he was driving due to speeding and crashed into a tree. As a result, he and his friends, Ayaz and Ahsan, were injured. They were rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for treatment, where Faraz succumbed to his injuries.

According to the police, the car was completely destroyed after the collision. They added that the statements of the injured could not be recorded until the presentation of this report.

The body was handed over to the family after completing the medical-legal procedures.

This is not the first time a life has been lost while filming a TikTok video. On June 21, a 17-year-old boy accidentally shot himself while recording a video. He was reportedly filming himself while holding his father’s gun to his temple when he accidentally pulled the trigger.
