- A great visual renewal for Android has been seen
- The update is hidden in the last beta of Android 16
- Google could announce it at the end of this month.
Android 16 must be expelled to the world in general in the coming months, and now we have some solid evidence of an important design review for Google’s mobile operating system, updating many different areas of the user interface.
This new aspect was seen and enabled by Android Authority, hidden in the code for the last Beta of Android 16. At this stage, it is not clear if the update of the user interface will be launched at the same time as Android 16, but it seems almost ready to work.
First, we have an updated appearance of the status bar at the top of the screen: here there are new status bar icons (for Wi-Fi, battery level and airplane mode, for example), as well as an adjusted appearance for the source used for the status of the status bar.
The second remarkable change that is on its way is to notifications and the fast settings. It seems that there will be several adjustments in this panel, including a blurred background, a redesigned shine slide and segmented icons.

Third, there are also visual modifications for the lock screen, with a more compact notification shelf, the introduction of dynamic colors and some reorganized widgets on which we have written previously.
A fourth change reaches the user interface used for sliding volume controls. Sliding bars will be thinner, with different mangoes at the end and several other adjustments, not large differences, but make a cleaner and more modern appearance in general.
Fifth, the configuration application is becoming more “expressive”, with color icons, smaller headers for menus and arrows to indicate subpages. The idea is that the configuration is easier to find and manipulate on your Android phone.
There are also more minor changes, including changes in the form of the icon and more blurred in the interface. Google has not said anything official about the update, but you can do it at the Google I/or 2025 event that begins on May 20.
