- Apple could improve autocorrect with iOS 27, according to new rumors
- The update is said to be similar to the Grammarly tool.
- A final decision on the feature has not yet been made.
Apple will give us our first look at iOS 27 when it hosts the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June, and the software could come with a supercharged autocorrect feature to help you with your writing.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is considering a way to improve autocorrect by offering alternative words that you might want to use; The approach is “similar to tools like Grammarly,” Gurman says.
Gurman is usually one of the most reliable tipsters when it comes to Apple rumors, but he also says that no final decision has been made on the autocorrect update. We’ll have to wait and see if it’s something Apple announces next month.

There are no further details on how it works either: if it’s like Grammarly, it can act a bit like a thesaurus and writing assistant, helping you choose the right word every time. Of course, you can now get help writing on iOS with Apple Intelligence.
Better autocorrect
It seems like Apple is finally starting to focus on one of the biggest problems for many iPhone users with this potential update and other recent tweaks. Complaints about autocorrect and its accuracy on iOS go back years.
In the most recent iOS 26.4 update, we got what Apple described as “improved keyboard precision when typing quickly,” which should now mean fewer errors and ignored keystrokes for users trying to enter text at a decent pace.
This iOS 27 update, if it arrives, should improve autocorrect even further, although it remains to be seen how useful the suggestions are or how much they could disrupt your writing flow. Meanwhile, users are turning to physical keyboards.
However, the main focus of iOS 27 is expected to be Siri. The digital assistant is believed to receive an AI update powered by Google Gemini, as well as other new tricks, including support for third-party AI chatbots within Siri itself.
