- Oura Ring can now track metabolic health
- A new food function can track nutritional content and give an idea of meal schedules
- A new glucose function uses a paired biosensor to measure its glucose levels
Oura announced today that two of the best smart rings in the market, the Ring 3 time and the Oura Ring 4, now have support for the monitoring of metabolic health thanks to their new meals and glucose characteristics.
The meals, after the months of Oura Labs tests, are now available in the OURA application. Simply taking a photo of what is on your dish, Oura can help you understand the dishes to analyze the key nutritional options and the balance of your food, labeled by components such as proteins or carbohydrates such as low, moderate or high.
This information can become comments and ideas to help you make more informed decisions about your diet.
The Oura ring obtains glucose monitoring integration
Oura has also announced a new glucose monitoring integration thanks to an association with Dexcom. You can now track your glucose levels directly in the OURA application when using the Dexcom glucose biosensor, one of the most popular continuous glucose monitors. The sensor offers readings every 15 minutes to help you understand how meals, activities and their daily habits affect blood sugar levels.
Oura says that his approach “encourages him to concentrate on the broader image of his blood sugar levels over time” instead of individual glucose peaks.
The company says that the two updates will give users a more holistic vision of how their dietary choices affect their general health.
Both characteristics are now being implemented for users of Oura 3 and Oura Ring 4 members in the United States. The Apple Watch continues, which also debuted the integration of Dexcom last year.
