- YouTube Music has a new AI Music Hosts function
- Sounds similar to DJ AI in Spotify
- The new feature is part of a YouTube Labs portal
If you are a YouTube music user in the US. UU., It is possible that it has a new experimental feature to test in your account: it is being presented as part of what YouTube calls YouTube laboratories, so it seems that more experiments will be on their way in the future.
Apparently, YouTube Labs is “dedicated to exploring the potential of the AI on YouTube”, and the first test that will be expelled is something called Ai Music Hosts. These hosts will “deepen their auditory experience” sharing relevant stories, trivia of fans and “fun” comments between clues in the application of YouTube music.
According to the official announcement, it is open to a “limited number” of users in the United States; We are not yet part of the group, so we cannot tell you exactly how the function works. However, it sounds similar to the DJ AI that is available as part of Spotify Premium.
People in 9to5google have that the AI Music Hosts function works, and add a new button to the reproduction screen, right to the right of the thumb buttons and thumbs down. You can touch this to enable interjections with AI.
The new is new again
This seems to be a brand change exercise instead of a completely new initiative. For some time now, YouTube Premium users have been able to go to www.youtube.com/new to test a variety of experimental characteristics.
The same URL is now being used for YouTube laboratories, so it seems that it only has a new name and a new AI approach (surprise surprise). In fact, it really did not have an old name, it was only known as a page of experimental characteristics. Past experiments have included more audio quality options and reproduction speed.
While the announcement of the YouTube blog publication does not specify that the characteristics are exclusive to YouTube Premium, there is a YouTube premium label attached to the publication, so presumably must subscribe to take advantage of this first test.
Past experiments have often been limited to specific regions and devices, but sometimes they are used, eventually. We will have to wait and see exactly how this characteristic of AI Music Hosts works, and what else is in process.
