- A ‘consistent volume’ configuration is seen in YouTube music
- It should prevent the clues from being very different at their volume levels.
- Not everyone is getting the function immediately
Make a track block at an unexpectedly high volume level, or being much quieter than it comes before, is not a great auditory experience, and it is something that YouTube Music aims to prevent with its latest update of functions.
As seen by the team in 9to5google, a new option called ‘Consistent Volume’ is now arriving at YouTube music applications for Android and iOS. The idea is that all its clues, regardless of where you have obtained, will use a similar volume range.
Strong songs will remain noisy and quiet songs will remain silent, of course, but should help with the clues that have been recorded or turned into remarkably different levels of volume, so their ears know more or less what to expect.
The function continues from the ‘stable volume’ function that has been available in different YouTube applications for some time. It is also something that can be found within the Spotify application range, where it is called ‘audio standardization’.
Appearing slowly
It seems that the consistent volume characteristic is being implemented quite slowly, or perhaps it is only being tested with a limited group of people for now. The 9th5google team has seen it on some of its phones, but it has not been presented for the Android authority team.
If you still don’t have it, you just have to be patient. To verify if you have it, open the youtube music application for Android or iOS, then touch your profile photo (top right) and SettingsThen choose Reproduction (Android) or Reproduction and restrictions (iOS).
Here in the United Kingdom I cannot see it on my Android phone or on my iPhone, so don’t be surprised if you have not yet appeared for you. According to 9to5google, you need version 8.15 of the YouTube music application, so verify if there are pending updates.
Without a doubt, it is a characteristic that YouTube music users have been looking forward to, with Reddit threads that date back to the subject. Until now, there has been no official announcement about this Google, but we will inform you if one appears.
